The use of having her performing in a busy London street shows that she is just an ordinary person- she is still a member of society. Sarah Lund- The Killing

Image
Sarah Lund  First see her waking up at 6:30am Wearing her fiancé's top which shows she is dependent on him. See her bum in the shirt which starts her off as being objectified, she doesn't look very powerful- contrasts the end of the episode where she is very powerful  She is moving to Sweden for her fiancé's family which shows he is in control. She has an addiction problem as is always seen chewing nicorette gum. Not very good as a mother as she didn't know the name of her son's ice hockey team but she is very good professionally.  Represented as a petite, feminine, charming female detective wearing jeans and sweaters whilst investigating a brutal killing.
